Principals Message

Dear Carlson Families:

I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful weather outside on this Earth Day. At Carlson, we started celebrating early this week as students picked up trash throughout the community in their STEAM class. Today, Scraps-to-Soil is coming in to make seed balls with students. Then we will continue the learning on Monday, when volunteers from Henderson Mine come to share information about the importance of pollinators. Taking care of the surrounding environment is an important part of contributing to a healthy community, and I’m proud of the responsible citizens our students are becoming.

Spring Concert

The Spring Concert will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 6:00 p.m. in Idaho Springs next to Citizen’s Park (16th & Miner). Students should arrive by 5:45 to join their class. Our students, the Carlson PTA, and Mr. Martin have worked very hard to prepare for this concert, so I hope you will be able to join us in celebrating their efforts.

Holding the concert in the middle of our charming community is an experiment, so I would love to hear any feedback you have afterward.

Field Day

Carlson’s students will join with King Murphy’s students on Friday, May 13th at the CCSD stadium on Floyd Hill for field day. Mr. Patrizi is organizing a carnival style event that promises to be super fun. Students will bring permission slips and volunteer sign-up forms home today, but I’m linking them here too in case you need another one. Parent volunteers will make this day a success, please join us!
